For anyone who has experienced sexual assault or rape, the South Yorkshire Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), Hackenthorpe Lodge is open every day of the year with staff able to provide information and support.

As part of the induction process, students arriving at the University of Sheffield are invited to attend a Consent Conversation

This training is designed to
  • establish a shared understanding of the behaviour expected
  • provide practical tips on being a good ally and active bystander
  • outline the support available to students during studies

It will cover key topics of sexual consent - what the law and university policy says, what consent is, how to identify consent, and information on healthy relationships. We discuss these concepts through a number of scenarios. The session finishes with learning more about being an active bystander and how to effectively support others.
